During my times at Weta Workshop, I was privileged to work on Mulan's sword for Disney's live action Mulan (2020). My contirbution was 3d modelling the hilt and all the metal components of the scabbard - then Jared Haley took it further by enhancing the sculptural details and prepped it for 3d print. After that we 3d printed the parts in wax and casted in bronze. The blade was made in steel and forged by our master sword maker Peter Lyon. We also did a 2:1 scale of the sword for the scene where Mulan sees here reflection on the blade.
